9 Steps to Become Motivated
Are there some big goals that you’d like to accomplish, but you lack the motivation to do what is necessary to attain those goals. By practicing these 9 steps in your daily life, you’ll notice your motivation towards your goal becoming stronger.
Step 1 | Optimism
This is when you anticipate that things will work out alright. An optimists believes that their disappointments in life are necessary for their growth and development.
Step 2 | Hope
This is a desire to want something to happen. Hope ignores the recent disappointments and doesn’t give up.
Step 3 | Anxiety
Not all anxiety is bad. A little anxiety is necessary to get you motivated. Your anxiety about being stuck in a lifestyle that doesn’t allow you to experience what you want to experience will motivate you to search for ways to accomplish your goals and search for people who can help you get there.
Step 4 | Enthusiasm
This is when you work towards your goal with a lot of energy. You’re excited about what you’ve set out to accomplish and you look forward to working on it. This is about your energy being boosted physically and mentally.
Step 5 | Good Mood
Being in a good mood comes from a place of gratitude about all the good things that are going on in your life. No matter how difficult your life may be at times, there are always many other things to be thankful for.
Step 6 | Intrinsic
This is when you find something to do that doesn’t seem to have any other reward than doing the tasks itself. For instance, you may enjoy playing racket ball.
Step 7 | Extrinsic
This is when your desire to do something has a competitive side to it. For instance, you may want to sign-up for a best cook competition where the winner gets a monetary reward as opposed to intrinsic where the only reward is doing something you enjoy.
Step 8 | Dedication
No matter how optimistic and enthusiastic you are, dedication to reach your goal is essential. You can’t be casual about your ambitions because they usually don’t manifest into reality when you are. Reaching your goal takes determination, hard work and dedication.
How bad do you want to reach your goal? You have to really want it. Like the famous motivational speaker, Les Brown, said, “You have to be willing to do things today others won’t do, in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have.”
Step 9 | A Plan for Success
The final step to become more motivated is to create a plan for success. Create a daily, weekly and/or monthly well thought-out plan of action like a game plan. You need a plan that sets you up for reaching your goal. The plan will be your pathway to follow in order to reach your goals.
